Dunton holds 'Plastic Jesus'
Fresh off winning a crowd Award at Sundance for that teen thriller "To.get.her," director Erica Dunton is turning her focus on "Plastic Jesus," a brand new indie project compiled by Bryan Bertino starring "Twilight Saga" moppet Mackenzie Foy and Chandler Canterbury. Production is under means by New York about the coming-of-age story within the vein of "Uphold Me," which follows three small-town kids who encounter mystery, loss and hope. Foy and Canterbury take part in the two youthful leads, while Paul Schneider and Hilarie Burton ("One Tree Hill") will have their parents. Indie fixture Joshua Leonard ("Greater Ground") co-stars alongside Bryce Hurless. Bertino, whose last created script was the 2008's sleeper hit "The Other people," produces with Adrienne Biddle under their Unbroken Pictures banner together with Louise Rae ("Frozen River") and Stephanie Caleb, while Global Creative's Christopher Rockwell will co-produce. Rae lately created another coming-of-age indie, Leah Meyerhoff's "Unicorns," a Sundance Lab finalist and IFP grant champion that stars Natalia Dyer ("The Healbot"). Foy, that has a number of TV looks on her behalf resume, will quickly be viewed as Renesmee, the spawn of Billy Burke and Robert Pattinson's figures in "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Beginning -- Part 2." Canterbury lately performed Nicolas Cage and Jude Law's sons in "Knowing" and "Repo Males," correspondingly. Thesp also performed a youthful (or perhaps is it old?) version of Kaira Pitt in "The Curious Situation of Benjamin Button." Rockwell handles Foy and Canterbury, who're also repped by Coast to Coast Talent Group and UTA, correspondingly. Latter agency also reps Bertino. Dunton is repped by Echo Lake Management.
